Privacy Policy

Know Ball ("we", "us") is a daily sports-knowledge puzzle game. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. We keep it simple because the app collects very little.

Information we collect

Account & gameplay. When you play, we create an account (a guest account by default, or an email account if you choose to sign up) and store your puzzle results, streaks, stats, and any private leagues you create or join. This is stored on our backend provider, Supabase.
Email (optional). Only if you choose to create an email account or contact us.
Diagnostics (optional). If enabled in a given build, we may collect anonymized crash reports and basic usage analytics to improve the app. We do not use these to identify you.

We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, or health data, and we do not sell your personal information.

How we use it

To run the game (save your progress, compute streaks and leaderboards, sync your leagues), to keep the app working (diagnostics), and to respond if you contact us.

Sharing

We share data only with the service providers that operate the app on our behalf (e.g. Supabase for the database/auth, and crash/analytics providers where enabled), and where required by law. Within a private league you join, other members can see your display name and daily results.

Advertising

Know Ball is free to play and may show ads provided by Google AdMob. On iOS, the first time it matters we show Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt asking whether to allow tracking:

If you allow tracking, AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) to show and measure personalized ads.
If you decline — or on devices without the prompt — you only see non-personalized ads and no advertising identifier is used to track you across other apps or websites.

You can change this anytime in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Google's use of advertising data is described in Google Privacy & Terms. Purchasing Know Ball Pro removes all ads.

Analytics & diagnostics

Where enabled in a build, we collect anonymized, aggregated usage analytics and crash reports (for example via PostHog and Sentry) to understand engagement and fix bugs. This is first-party data used only to improve Know Ball — it is not used to track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Purchases & subscriptions

In-app purchases and subscriptions (Know Ball Pro — a monthly subscription or a one-time Lifetime purchase) are processed by Apple and managed for us by RevenueCat. We receive a purchase and entitlement record — never your card details — so we can unlock Pro on your account across your devices.

Data retention & deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. To delete your account and associated data, email us at christianlance85@gmail.com and we will remove it.

Children

Know Ball is rated for ages 4+ and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Sports data disclaimer

Know Ball is an independent, unofficial game and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL, any soccer league, ESPN, or any team, player, or governing body. Player names and factual data are used for informational and gameplay purposes.

Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected here with a new date.
